Goals
To achieve improvements in young children’s safety in the short term and develop safe community attitudes to road use in the long term by:
- Increasing awareness of the need for road safety education for children and their families
- Fostering developmentally, culturally and socially appropriate practices for the delivery of road safety with early childhood educators and tertiary early childhood students education
- Ensuring that young children are given consistent road safety messages by both early childhood educators and families.
Community stories
We love highlighting the great work early childhood services across NSW are doing around road safety. It is exciting to see how ideas, strategies and resources from our professional development workshops are being implemented into programming and planning by educators with children and families. Here we document stories of road safety education in a variety of services, in different communities across NSW.
